Noel's Activities for Advancing Women in IEEE, PES and STEM
Dr. Noel Schulz has been an advocate for Women in STEM students, faculty and professionals for her entire career. In 1997, she organized the first Women in Engineering reception at the IEEE Winter Meeting in Tampa, Florida. These events continue today.
Noel also started an annual meeting for the IEEE PES Women in Power Faculty during the IEEE PES General Meeting. This meeting started with five faculty and now over 40 women faculty from universities across the world are invited to attend.
During Noel's time on the PES Governing Board, she was a champion for IEEE Women in Engineering and PES Women in Power activities. While President of PES, she helped organize Women in Power events on six continents and continues today to give presentations to various women in STEM groups.
